Tue, 01/29/2013 - 6:30pm
Presented by:
Jamaica Bay Task Force
On January 29th at 6:30 pm there will be a Jamaica Bay Taskforce Meeting held at the Wildlife Refuge Center on Crossbay Blvd in Broad Channel Queens.
This will be the first Taskforce meeting to be held Post-Sandy and will be an opportunity for the stakeholder groups to discuss the damage to the bay and the park as a result of this unprecedented storm.
Park Superintendent Linda Canzanelli will address the meeting and it will be good to hear from the Head park representative as to a damage assesment as well as their plans for fixing the destruction wrought by the storm.
In addition Army Corps representatives will be present to discuss the ongoing marsh restoration projects as well as the DEP commissioner to discuss the storms impacts on the waste water treatment plants.
We hope to use this a starting point for discussing a plan for addressing the damage the park has sustained and possible solutions
