===========================
What to expect:
The Department of City Planning will begin each session with a short presentation on our assessment of waterfront resources for the Borough: what public access exists today, where there are active industrial activities, the natural areas, etc. Everyone will then break into small groups to discuss particular segments of the Borough’s waterfront, what they refer to as “Reaches”. For each reach, the groups will discuss the opportunities and challenges for the future of specific sites along the waterfront.
The Blue Network:
The Blue Network is the term for our waterways themselves. This sixth workshop will examine and discuss the opportunities to use New York City’s waterways for recreation, transportation, and education. They will also discuss the ecology of the water bodies and increasing the city’s resilience to climate change and sea level rise.
