Green Schools NYC 2010: The Largest Ever City-wide Green Schools Event!
Join the more than 1,000 students and club leaders, school administrators, business officers, facility managers, teachers, parents, green companies, environmental groups, community leaders and elected officials, and everyone who cares about greening our schools from as we share best practices, discover ways to reduce our impact on the environment, and grow our Green Schools Community.
Hear inspiring speakers. Attend break-out training workshops on topics including: Energy Efficiency, Benchmarking/Know Your Numbers, Green Cleaning, Healthy Foods, and Growing The Green Schools Movement . Uniquely created “by schools for schools,” the first Green Schools Alliance resource event was launched in NYC at the Allen-Stevenson School in October 2007 to “empower students and their schools with the skills, knowledge, and tools necessary to meet their energy and sustainability goals, and to become global leaders in their own communities.” Other Schools hosting GSA resource events include: the Town School, Spence School, and Dalton. The first GSA Green Schools “Spring Resource Fair” was hosted in 2008 by the United Nations International School, and in 2009 by the Collegiate School.
