Sailing Faster than the Wind: The Romance of Iceboat Sailing and Racing .... Past and Present .... East and West by Greg Strand and Dan Clapp

Navesink Maritime Heritage Association invites you to a unique historical and modern
presentation to be held:

Monmouth Beach Cultural Center
128 Ocean Avenue, Monmouth Beach, NJ

A welcome reception will begin at 7:30 pm.
Program begins at 8:00 pm

Greg Strand, who has sailed iceboats for over 50 years, will present the history of iceboating in America, the design of iceboats with models of classic iceboats, and a film documentary of large A-boats racing.

Dan Clapp will present the story of the modern iceboats – the legendary Skeeters – that he designs and builds here in New Jersey. Dan Clapp holds many records and trophies racing Skeeters in North America.

The reception and presentations are free and open to the public but capacity is limited.
