Dyckman Street Eco Dock on the Hudson

After a successful community outreach campaign in 2011 and 2012, an Eco Dock is coming to Northern Manhattan, specifically at La Marina, a new marina and restaurant concession at Dyckman Street on the Hudson River. The capital funding was provided from both local Councilmember Robert Jackson and Borough President Scott Stringer in Manhattan.
An Eco Dock will greatly expand the water-related opportunities planned for this new site. With the restaurant now complete, La Marina will also feature a full marina and sailing center by 2014 (some sailing and mooring operations will be available in 2013).
Similar to the Bay Ridge Eco Dock project in Brooklyn, MWA will assist with this project from design to construction and ensure that the new dock meets the interest and demand from the community for access, recreation, and educational opportunities. Starting in 2013, MWA, in partnership with the New York City Parks Department and numerous neighborhood-based MWA Alliance Partners, will lead a participatory dock design process, start to develop programming and ensure maintenance and responsible use at the dock.
Please contact us if you're interested in getting involved.
