Spend the morning jumping off a ferry boat and circling a piece of Manhattan at this challenging 2-miler around the birthplace of New York City, with great views of Lower Manhattan, Jersey City, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and, of course, Governors Island itself. The island will be open to the public during the event, meaning there will be more fans than ever cheering you on at the sixth annual Governors Island Swim.

KAYAK STATEN ISLAND PROGRAM
Kayak Staten Island is an all-volunteer organization. They provide free kayaking for the public at the shoreline on South Beach in Staten Island.

They provide the use of sit-on-top kayaks, life-jackets and paddles. They offer paddling tips and launch/land assistance. Experienced kayakers are in the water for further assistance.
Once a participant signs a waiver (required) and is fitted with a life jacket they may paddle out into an embayment area marked by buoys.
